… from the area of Jazz, Jazz Rock and Free Jazz until today. The man won the European jazz polls in the early 50s, then moved to the US, where he met the great John Hammond and played with legends like Benny Goodman or Tommy Dorsey. Back in Germany, he worked with Albert Mangelsdorff, Friedrich Gulda and nearly every important player from the European scene. He also left his mark on many awarded recordings together with his younger brother, the highly respected piano player Joachim Kuehn. With his outstanding musical talents, Rolf Kuehn became the first sax player at the “RIAS Tanzorchester” as early as 1950.
